I’m Alicia Garstka, M.A., C-SLDI, and I’m thrilled to have you here. With over fifteen years of experience as a classroom teacher, literacy specialist, and dyslexia interventionist, I’ve had the pleasure of working with students in elementary through high school. In 2024, I earned a certificate in dyslexia from the University of Florida, one of the few programs in the United States accredited by the International Dyslexia Association. This advanced training has deepened my expertise in helping students with dyslexia and other literacy challenges through dyslexia tutoring services. In 2025, I became a Structured Literacy Dyslexia Interventionist through the Center for Effective Reading Instruction, a subsidiary of the International Dyslexia Association and was named the 2026 Teacher of the Year. In 2026, I was selected for the Connecticut State Department of Education Curriculum Leader Fellowship.

I’m passionate about creating personalized, research-based solutions to help students not only overcome their struggles, but also build confidence in their reading abilities and THRIVE, even beyond our time together! I strive to empower families, providing them with the tools and guidance to support their children's literacy journey every step of the way.

Outside of my work with summer tutoring, I’m a proud mom of two, a loving wife, an avid reader, and an adventurer at heart. I look forward to working with you and your family to help your child reach their full potential!
